Dutch artist Frank Van der Salm uses his large format, high color photographs of land and city sights to carry on an intensive conceptual and visual discourse defining and re-defining place, perception, and insight. He employs direction of view, depth of field, selective focus, color, cropping, and scale in unusual ways to create a collection of peculiar and seductive images that seem to testify to another world. View/Sight/Vision was presented in conjunction with the fourth Los Angeles International Biennial Invitational.
